  • Responsible to handle fire emergency in the institution for patient safety and safety of the occupant, and ensure fire safety measures as per the guideline of Delhi fire service and perform periodic checks on installed fire safety equipments and fire detection system in the building and ensure it is in operational condition at all the time.
  • Handling fire emergency in the institution and investigation and preparing incident reports of fire incidents.
  • Conduct routine inspection of fire safety equipments installed in the institution like, fire detection system, smoke detectors, Manual call point, heat detectors, automatic water sprinkler system, hooters, fire hydrant, hose reel, fire hose pipes and maintaining inspection records.
  • Conduct regular checks on installed fire fighting pumps like jockey pumps, hydrant pumps, and diesel pump and maintaining inspection records.
  • Conduct training of hospital staff on basic fire fighting and acquainted them with fire emergency plan and emergency escape routes of the building and using of fire extinguishers and fire hydrant system.
  • Conduct training of security staff to understand and operate fire detection panel and respond to the location from fire alarm is indicated.
  • Responsible to carry out checks on all the hot work in the institution and ensure that preventive measures are taken during and after the hot work/welding work.
  • Ensure periodic checks on fire extinguishers and refilling and maintenance of fire extinguisher with coordination of engineering.
  • Perform regular visit in the institution and analyze fire safety hazard and circulate safety hazard report to minimize fire safety hazard in the institution.
  • Ensure all the fire emergency escape routes are free from any obstruction at all the time and spreading awareness among the hospital staff to take fire prevention measures in the institution.
  • Conduct periodic fire drills to prepare ERT team to handle fire emergency in the institution.
  • Conduct training of ERT team to using firefighting equipment's in fire emergency.
  • Responsible for record keeping of the safety function, including training records, drills and fire safety equipment inspection records for outside agencies as may be required.
  • Liaise with Delhi Fire service for approval and involvement in plan review and other correspondence related to Obtain NOC.
