Department Overview

Enterprise Finance function supports the state side in various Finance related processes across the organization. There are various processes such as Asset Liability Management, Liquidity reporting management, Revenue and Expense Forecasting, Revenue Forecasting COE, Enterprise Controls & Oversight, Cost of Funds Reporting, Investment Portfolio, and Financial Analytics.

Investment Portfolio Overview
The Wells Fargo Investment Portfolio (IP) manages the Company’s Available-For-Sale (AFS) and Held-To-Maturity (HTM) securities and loan portfolios, and the Reinsurance and Bank Owned Life Insurance (BOLI) businesses as part of the Enterprise Finance group. IP also provides strategic and analytical balance sheet support to the bank as well as a centralized, street-facing trade execution and hedging function for the enterprise.
The Investment Portfolio consists of:

• Credit Investment Portfolio (CIP): Responsible for the evaluation of credit-driven investment opportunities across a broad spectrum of Municipal bonds, CLOs, other asset backed securities, and corporate credits
• Financial Forecasting & Reporting (FFR): Responsible for financial forecasting & IP reporting, expense management, and legal entity management
• Macro Investment Portfolio (MIP): Responsible for maintaining a portfolio of fixed income investments to achieve liquidity, interest rate risk management, and capital management objectives on behalf of Corporate Asset/Liability Committee
• Portfolio Strategy and Analytics and Infrastructure (PSAI): Responsible for managing IP’s analytics, including stress testing, sensitivity analytics, and optimizing investment decision making within capital, liquidity and risk management constraints. The team also provides standardized processes and tools for use across IP
• Trading: Street-facing trading desk with the ability to offer coordinated execution of all cash and derivatives trades for the portfolio, as well as for other key partners within Wells Fargo
• Reinsurance and Bank Owned Life Insurance (BOLI) businesses

About the Role

The Treasury Analyst will play a critical role in data analysis and trends using statistical and/or financial analysis, data modeling, governance, process documentation. This role requires a highly organized individual who is able to multi-task effectively and can quickly grasp complex data. Excellent project management, planning, and communication skills are required as this position needs to be highly skilled in anticipating and translating strategic initiatives, and be a self-starter to Recommends solutions to increase revenue, reduce expense, maximize operational efficiency, quality, compliance and execute on process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Break down sophisticated Data into meaningful chunks and synthesize action plans relevant to the business

  • Proven analytical ability using tools to evaluate data and draw conclusions

  • Translate key insights, trends and data into meaningful recommendations; prioritize project work into client presentations, outlining findings and recommendations

  • Build a framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of critical data through policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture

  • Crafts mapping of data sources, data movement, interfaces, and analytics. Builds flow diagrams, structure charts, and other types of system, process, and data flow representations

  • Profile data, resolve trends, patterns, inconsistencies, draw conclusions in order to conceptualize DQ rules and recommend business rules

  • Translate conceptualize DQ rules into scripts for validation of the proposed rules and recommend improvements based on data domains, product type, client specific data and systems layout

  • Define critical metric to measure and presenting data quality controls to senior management/partners

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s degree in information technology, business, or related field, or any equivalent combination of education and 9+ years of experience required

  • Prior data analysis/data profiling experience (quantifying the issue, identifying trends & patterns)

  • Strong analytical & problem solving capabilities to break sophisticated problems into simpler ones

  • Experience in one or a combination of the following: data management, data governance, data quality or data analysis

  • Experience performing data analysis leveraging SQL or other techniques to extract data from data warehousing platforms

  • Highly motivated team player and a self-starter who is accustomed to working in complex organizations, partnering with a diverse group of stakeholders, and achieving results

  • Ability to work independently and exuberate leadership acumen

  • Ability to build effective business partnerships and manage multiple competing priorities in an ever-changing environment. Willingness to work beyond standard business hours.

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members. Ability to present to senior level executives

  • Experience in Process / Business Transformation

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

  • Proficiency in the use of MS excel, PowerPoint

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Capital Markets Finance domain is a plus

  • Experience in using Collibra tool for data management, prepare template for ready use/ upload and deployment is desirable

  • Experience on Informatica IDQ, AbInitio DQE or any other data quality tools is an added advantage

  • Experience with all aspects of the software development life cycle including various documentation techniques, participating in testing activities, and developing metadata

  • Experience in data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI
