QUALITY INCHARGE

Job description

Responsible for ensuring Quality & Training at all levels in the company.

Job Objective

Responsible for overall product quality by regular monitoring of critical quality parameters in the areas of manufacturing & supplier quality and analysis of all quality parameters, facilitating the team members for corrective and preventive actions through standardization, deployment and monitoring of quality control mechanisms across the plants.

Primary Responsibilities

Financial

  • Finalize the department budget and ensure adherence to department budgets and minimize operating costs and overheads.
  • Monitor the cost due to rejections and rework and support other departments (D&D, production etc) in controlling the same

Customer

  • Ensure preparation of timely and accurate counter measures to address customer issues.
  • Provide support to other departments (internal customers) in managing quality within their processes.
  • Conduct periodic visits to the customers to ensure that any critical issues are addressed as a priority.
  • Conduct periodic visits to the suppliers of the plant to ensure ongoing improvement in their service

Process

  • Provide leadership for quality activities associated with New Product Development and expand quality system tools and procedures to support NPD Processes.
  • Define corporate quality system improvement strategies for New Product Development Processes and drive implementation.
  • Develop and implement key new product quality system elements and tools (QFD, FMEA, Design and Process Validation/reviews, APQP, PPAP, etc) to be incorporated into NPD Tollgate Process. Train and coach team on their use.
  • Provide quality leadership for Critical-To-Quality (CTQ) flowdown and specification development.
  • Provide quality leadership for validation test plan development and execution (design and process validation). Revise/expand reliability test protocols to better predict long term field performance.
  • Lead risk analysis activities for New Product Development programs and drive completion of appropriate mitigation.
  • Provide quality leadership for design review activities and launch readiness decisions.
  • Expand the quality system infrastructure using ISO/IATF principles to ensure robust, reproducible, high quality product designs and manufacturing processes.
  • Coordination with Design and development, production and vendor development team to deliver to right quality at right time to customers
  • Reduction of Total Cost of Poor Quality due to Warranty failures or any other defective material.
  • Monitor the in-process quality by setting standards and supporting the production teams to adhere to the same
  • Ensure that patrol inspection schedules are adhered to, and review the inspection reports on a periodic basis
  • Review customer/supplier rejection reports and ensure implementation of action plans
  • Ensure quality of incoming material from all vendors supplying to the plant
  • Monitor and control issues with regard to quality of suppliers for the plant
  • Oversee the PDI related activities and ensure that the products dispatched meet the required standards
  • Drive quality related improvement projects at the plant including customer projects as well as internal improvement initiatives.
  • Review the standard room reports periodically to ensure that the gauges are calibrated accurately.
  • Conducting regular risk assessments and identifying potential hazards in the workplace.
  • Developing and implementing appropriate control measures to mitigate identified risks.
  • Ensuring all employees are adequately trained on safety protocols and procedures.
  • Conducting investigations of accidents and near-misses, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure that all quality related compliances and standards for the plant are met
  • Lead the Quality Audits for the plant by coordinating with all departments and ensuring effective implementation of the same

Learning & Development

  • Take responsibility for people development initiatives and building in-house capabilities for the employees in the department
