Job Title: Regional Product Manager SA

Job Description Summary

The Regional Product Manager SA (RPM) is responsible for the execution of the Functional Solutions and Emulsifiers & Sweeteners Business Units strategy in the Country/Region. The RPM is the champion in the Region for the Business Unit and works closely with Regional SAFI Sales, Product Marketing, Execution Marketing, Innovation and other functions including Finance, Supply Chain and Integrated Ops to maximize regional growth and profitability. The RPM for SA will focus on managing the existing business, developing existing and new market opportunities, channels, application areas, and offerings in the Region.


Key Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Provide leadership by effectively navigating through a cross-functional organization to serve customer needs and achieve business profit objectives
  • Articulate sales channels for Functional Solutions products across functions to deliver timely, profit-based results
  • Support Sales and Application teams in all product launches within regional Industries
  • Identify and quantify key opportunities for Functional Solutions products through the understanding of market trends, industry needs, customers and product solutions
  • Identify areas of emerging opportunity with the Region (new applications, new channels, new business models) and prepare business cases to support BU investments
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Functional Solutions business in the Region and its impact in the market, channels, competition, key industries, and customers
  • Develop and maintain key marketing/selling tools that will convert growth and defend opportunities in the region
  • Manage regional pricing within global guidelines in order to maximize BU profitability
  • Balance short-term actions needed to deliver budgeted revenue and profit with medium/long-term initiatives to deliver the BU Execution Plan
  • Be an active participant on Regional teams and processes, including BU relevant Industry Growth Teams, Account Teams and monthly demand meetings
  • Champion DuPont Core Values and Cultural Signatures across the company and with market partners

Job Qualification

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in either business or food science or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Food Industry in either Product Line Management, Marketing or Sales
  • Experience evaluating and developing new business opportunities
  • High degree of autonomy, self-drive and positive energy with a strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated a “can do” attitude with a positive approach to problem solving
  • Strong business acumen, attention to detail, and analytical skills
  • High degree of customer focus – internal and external customers
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed environment
  • Ability to quickly diagnose and problem solve


Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Advanced business degree (MBA)
  • 10+ years of experience in the Food Ingredients Industry
  • Experience in Sales and either Product Line Management or Marketing
  • Strategic Planning Experience
  • Technical experience with systems and hydrocolloid ingredients
