Job Title: Nursing EducatorJob Grade:Department: Nursing Reporting to: Unit Head Nursing Location: UnitJob Summary: Responsible for designing, implementing, evaluating and revising clinical education. The role also entails in assuring quality educational experiences and preparing the nursing workforce for the diverse, ever-changing health care environment.
FocusIndicators
Business

  • Actively participate in activities that promote the professional development and education of nurses.
  • Monitors trends and implements educational strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards and parameters.
  • Organize CNE also participate in various CNE in order to enhance knowledge.
  • Perform training need analysis


People

  • Support in the delivery of training, education, orientation and induction programs on a periodic basis.
  • Responsible for collecting information from different wards/ sources on nurses performance and provide training on need basis.
  • Ensure all employees participate in training workshops for atleast ____ no. of days in a year
  • Competency mapping of each employee is to be done in consultation with respective in charges.
  • The training should be planned & executed considering the overall development of the staff nurse.
  • Stay updated with latest trends in the health care industry & learn the new training techniques that are useful to the organization.


Customer

  • Coordinating with consultants and arranging training classes for the staff.
  • Work closely with senior nursing management regarding development, education and staff support.

Operations

  • Assess and evaluate the quality of education resources and equipment required to meet the learning needs of nurses.
  • Responsible for preparing training schedules on monthly basis and circulate to all wards.
  • Responsible for tracking attendance of the nurses during the training sessions.
  • Responsible for Educating nurses bedside on different procedures and cross check their understanding of the same.
  • Conduct training impact study to identify gaps and plug-in thru course corrections
  • Taking rounds and checking on the performance of the nursing staff on different procedures of patient care.
  • Provide mentorship and support for all staff undertaking further education and training.
  • Provide clinical support to new and existing nurses and develop and maintain clinical educational resources.
  • Participate in the delivery of formal and informal education.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Responsible for arranging certification programs like BLS, ACLs, Pediatric ALS(PALS).
  • Responsible for analyzing incident forms and come up with necessary training programs basis on accidents taken place.
  • To support nursing head in ensuring nursing excellence.

  • Any other portfolio that may be entrusted by the management from time to time.



Educational Qualifications:
MSc Nursing/MSc Pediatric
Work Experience

  • Having 5 years of experience as a Nurse Educator.
  • Having clinical & teaching experience
  • High level of understanding in pediatrics critical care.
  • Training delivery skills
  • Relationship management
  • Knowledge of traditional and latest training methods
