Our Functional Validation team is responsible for validating the functional correctness of the Discrete GPU products from SoC point of view. You will drive the definition and development of system validation plans, methods, environments, and test content, and will drive our teams to execute to our committed schedules. To be a part of our team during an unprecedented time of growth and technology development and enable Intel's datacentric vision in building and scaling solutions spanning coherency and interconnects. In this role you will be responsible for validating entire solutions with board, silicon, SOC RTL, software, and firmware ingredients along with responsibilities included but not limited to:

  • Creates, defines and develops system validation plans, environment and test suites
  • Overall SoC Domain expertise including all or some of Power Management, PCIe, Memory (HBM) IPs
  • Uses and applies emulation and platform level tools and techniques to ensure compliance to spec.
  • Responsible for the development of methodologies, execution of validation plans, and debug of failures.
  • Requires broad understanding of multiple system areas and requires interfaces with Architecture, Design, and Pre-silicon Validation, Software/Drivers teams in improving post-silicon test content and providing feedback for future on-die debug features.
  • System Bring-Up, Validation and Debug Engineer who can help us to integrate, validate, and debug our platform to small scale systems.
  • In this role the selected person would part of Bring-Ups (systems) and during these activities manage integration, partner with validation and debug teams to ensure we shift left quality.
  • Own Joint Validation Taskforce (JVT) that spans pre-silicon, FWs, System SW, and post-silicon validation, Report out on progress to Senior Management, Strong demonstration of Intel Cultural values


Qualifications & Skills:

- Should have10-15+ years of experience in Embedded Software/Firmware/Platform Development/Validation and should have proven leadership in debug/sysdebug engineer/lead role
- Must have a good knowledge of discrete GPU systems and the ability to integrate various system components and validate/debug to the requirements for datacentre platforms.

- Must be able to interpret specifications to assist with debug and test development.
- Demonstrated experience in ramping up and mentoring teams on debug/sysdebug, driving priorities with stakeholders and managing multiple issues at the same time.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in validation of some or all of IPs like PCIe and/or CXL, Power Management, PCIe, Memory (HBM) based products will be a perfect fit but others with experience on similar protocols would also be considered equally
- Good working knowledge in C++/Python/Perl SW programming for content development and scripting. Ability to understand existing scripts and write new scripts/make changes to Python based validation and debug scripts

- Should have a good understanding on using Debug tools: XDP/ITP, Logic Analyzer, Oscilloscope and ability to write scripts/tests needed for debug
- Prior experience in working closely with architects for escape analysis data, PDT for retrospective data and with different firmware teams to drive resolution of defects

- Must be self-motivated and be able to make decisions with little or no direction and be able to deal with ambiguity.
- Must be able to influence and drive stakeholder teams - validation, design, BIOS, Firmware, processor and other ingredient teams - as needed, to get to issue resolution.

- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, be able to effectively communicate status of debug tasks in various forums and represent team in discussions
